Elizabeth Cowan is an Instructor of Voice at the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, Western Michigan University. She holds a Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory, a Master of Music from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Music from Wittenberg University. Her career includes teaching at Florida International University and the New World School of the Arts, alongside performances with major opera companies like Santa Fe Opera and Dallas Opera.
Her research and teaching focus on vocal performance techniques, opera training, and pedagogy. Cowan has distinguished herself through awards including the Wagner Society Solo Competition and Dallas Opera Guild Career Grant.
