Elizabeth Cotter

Dr. Elizabeth Cotter serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where she maintains active clinical and teaching responsibilities within the Anesthesiology division.

Her academic foundation includes:

• BA in Spanish from University of Missouri - Columbia
• BS in Biology from University of Missouri - Columbia
• MD from Creighton University
• MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard School of Public Health

Dr. Cotter completed her entire postgraduate training at the University of Chicago, including Anesthesiology Residency followed by dual Clinical Fellowships in Critical Care and Cardiothoracic Anesthesia. Her clinical expertise centers on high-acuity perioperative management, with specialized focus on echocardiography applications and cardiothoracic surgical support. She maintains active board certification in both Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology, alongside National Board of Echocardiography credentials for Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography.
