Elizabeth Chen is an Adjunct Lecturer in Architecture and Real Estate Development at Tulane University. Her work focuses on sustainable design, equity, and community-centered approaches to the built environment. She holds a Master’s of Architecture from Tulane University.
Her research interests include sustainable futures, design justice, and addressing colonial legacies in architecture. She has collaborated with organizations like Colloqate (a Design Justice practice) and Learn to Live (a water justice NGO), contributing to rainwater filtration systems in Indonesia and fostering cross-cultural arts exchanges.
Elizabeth’s professional recognition includes awards from AIA New Orleans, ASLA Louisiana, and USGBC Louisiana. Her pro-bono work emphasizes environmental justice and community health, particularly in marginalized regions.
She advises through her academic roles and contributes to interdisciplinary teams focused on equity-driven design solutions. Elizabeth’s current engagements bridge architecture, urban development, and post-colonial studies, advocating for socially just built environments.
