Dr. Elizabeth Bettini is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education at Boston University's Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research focuses on factors influencing the special education teacher workforce, including how working conditions exacerbate shortages and inequities in access to quality special education teachers across disability, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic lines. She advocates for interventions to improve working conditions and reduce disparities in educational equity.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Bettini taught students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) in self-contained and inclusive classroom settings in Arizona and Connecticut. She currently serves on the EdWorkingPapers Review Board, contributing to policy-relevant research in education.
