Elizabeth Allison is Professor and Chair of the Ecology, Spirituality, and Religion program at California Institute of Integral Studies. She founded both the academic program and the Religion & Ecology Summit conference series.
Her research examines spiritual dimensions of environmental challenges, particularly in high mountain regions. Current projects analyze socio-spiritual implications of glacial retreat, Buddhist approaches to biodiversity conservation, and expansion of care ethics to nonhuman nature.
Professor Allison serves on the advisory board of the Yale Forum on Religion & Ecology and as Secretary of the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature, and Culture.
