Dr. Eliza Karlowska is a Research Scientist at the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading, affiliated with the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS). Her research focuses on Tropical Meteorology, Oceanography, and the Madden-Julian Oscillation, with a particular emphasis on air-sea interactions and convection processes. She investigates the dynamics of coupled ocean-atmosphere systems, including feedback mechanisms and model improvements for climate and weather prediction.
Her work explores how ocean advection, surface heat fluxes, and diurnal warm layers influence the Madden-Julian Oscillation's propagation and intensity. Recent studies also examine seismic anisotropy in Alaska, though this appears to be a secondary research area. Dr. Karlowska’s contributions include analyzing errors in numerical weather prediction models and advancing understanding of climate dynamics through coupled model simulations.
