Elisha Denee Tones

Dr. Elisha Tones is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. She holds a DSW from Simmons University (2024), an MSW from the University of Houston (2011), and a BS in Psychology from UT Arlington (2006). With over 13 years of clinical experience in medical and mental health social work, her teaching focuses on integrating clinical skills with social justice advocacy.

Her research interests include clinical social work applications, policy leadership, supervision methodologies, and mental health interventions. She teaches courses such as Brain and Behavior, Stress/Crisis Coping, and Direct Practice in Mental Health.

Professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers and Council on Social Work Education. She maintains an active clinical practice alongside her academic work.
