Elise DuBord is a Professor of Spanish at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), affiliated with the Department of Languages & Literatures within the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. She also serves as Senior Personnel in Project UNITED. Her research focuses on Latinx populations in the U.S., examining sociolinguistic impacts of language contact between Spanish and English, civic engagement, and heritage language education. Prior to academia, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, working in community development and adult literacy.
