Elise Bjork

Dr. Elise Bjork is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, TX. She holds a DPT from Texas Woman's University and is a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS).

Her research interests include:

• Trauma-informed physical therapy practice
• Culturally responsive pedagogy in health education
• Sports medicine for sexual and gender minorities
• Upper extremity return-to-sports testing

She served as Head Physical Therapist for professional ultimate frisbee teams (Austin Sol and Austin Torch) from 2016-2019. Her interdisciplinary background includes graduate work in theology focusing on liberation frameworks in healthcare. She progressed from Faculty Lab Instructor to Core Faculty in the DPT program.
