Elisabetta Di Giovanni is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychological, Pedagogical, Physical Exercise and Training Sciences at the University of Palermo. Her research focuses on socio-anthropological contexts of contemporary times, particularly religious dynamics and migratory phenomena. Research Interests: Dr. Di Giovanni specializes in Religious Anthropology, with emphasis on patronage dynamics, youth religiosity, and cultic practices of migrant communities. Her work also explores the refunctionalization of the sacred, religious pluralism, and Roma/Gypsy Studies. She investigates socio-anthropological contexts of contemporary times, focusing on interactions between migrant communities and majority societies.
Key Projects: She leads the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Project "T@les at Home" (2016-2018), which developed a multilingual family communication app, and the Observatory on Religious Pluralism (2015-present), analyzing Italy's religious landscape for intercultural dialogue.
