Elisabeth Siegert, MD, FACP, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Core Faculty member at the Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU). She serves as the Head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Cooper Health System and has been a faculty member at CMSRU since its establishment in 2012.
Dr. Siegert's educational background includes:
- Medical School: UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (now Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), Camden, NJ
- Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine: Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ
- Fellowship in Geriatrics: Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC
Her research focuses on end-of-life care, medical ethics, and interprofessional communication. Key areas include patients' decision-making regarding end-of-life treatment choices, veterans' understanding of advance directives, and the stability of ICU patients' wishes over time. She also explores long-term care patients' ability to communicate their treatment preferences and the impact of outcome knowledge on their decisions.

- Facilitator for the 'Becoming a Doctor, Staying Human' M3 course
She has contributed to grants, including a program to train regional ethics committees in New Jersey's long-term care facilities. Dr. Siegert actively collaborates with the Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism to enhance interprofessional education and patient communication initiatives.
Outside of academia, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development Inc., a non-profit focused on affordable housing. She enjoys yoga, hiking, gardening, and golf.
