Elisabeth Leijnse is a Professor in the Department of Netherlandic Studies at the University of Namur, where she works at the Namur Institute of Language, Text and Transmediality. Her research focuses on Dutch literature from 1800–1940, with specific emphasis on biography writing, women's emancipation history, and the intersection of literature with social movements.
