معرفی
Elisabeth Krause is an Associate Professor of Astronomy and Physics at the University of Arizona. She holds a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology (2012). Her research focuses on theoretical and observational cosmology, particularly using large-scale galaxy distribution to constrain the Universe's composition and initial conditions. She leads the Theory and Joint Probes working group in the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope's Dark Energy Collaboration and co-coordinates the Theory and Combined Probes group in the Dark Energy Survey.
Research Interests: Krause's work spans analytic calculations, numerical simulations, and data analysis for upcoming surveys like LSST. Key areas include galaxy clustering, weak lensing, and baryonic feedback effects. She develops machine learning tools (e.g., neural network emulators) to handle multi-probe cosmological data and mitigate systematic uncertainties.
Awards:
- Maria Goeppert Mayer Award (2020)
Advising & Collaborations: Krause collaborates extensively on projects like the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and Simons Observatory, focusing on joint analyses of galaxy clustering, lensing, and CMB data. Her work bridges theory and observation, addressing fundamental questions in cosmology.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Dark Energy Collaboration, she leads initiatives to model next-generation surveys and validate analysis pipelines for large-scale projects.
