Elisabeth Allgoewer is a Professor of Economics at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, specializing in the History of Economic Thought. Her research focuses on the institutional development of economics in Germany, particularly the transition from historical-ethical schools to modern methodologies, and the role of women in early economic thought. She co-edits works on early female economists in German-speaking countries and leads projects analyzing Hamburg's economic and social sciences history from 1919-1954.
