Elisa Padovano

Elisa Padovano is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She is a member of the Interdepartmental Center IAM@PoliTo - Integrated Additive Manufacturing, contributing to interdisciplinary research in advanced manufacturing. Her academic role includes teaching in multiple degree programs and supervising PhD students in Materials Science and Technology.

Recent Research Trends: Her recent publications focus on optimizing metal additive manufacturing processes, particularly Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (EB-PBF), for high-strength aluminum and copper alloys. She also investigates composite materials and nanostructured systems for electrochemical applications, demonstrating a multidisciplinary approach bridging materials synthesis, processing, and functional performance.

Advising and Grants: Elisa Padovano actively supervises PhD students including Francesca Caltagirone, Lorenzo Messina Picone, Stefano Felicioni, and Michele Rosito. She serves as the Scientific Director of the PRIN-funded project APICRAM - Advanced Printed Implants for Cranial Reconstruction by Additive Manufacturing (2023–2025), which focuses on biomedical applications of additive manufacturing.

Laboratories and Research Groups: She is affiliated with the Metallographic Preparation Laboratory and contributes to research teams in Additive Manufacturing, Metallic Materials, and High-Temperature Materials within DISAT.
