Elisa CURTI is an Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, specializing in Italian Literature. She holds roles including Department's Delegate for Teaching and DSU representative on the Humanities Area Library Board (BAUM). Her research focuses on medieval and Renaissance literature, particularly Boccaccio, Pietro Bembo, and Angelo Poliziano, with additional work on 19th-20th century Bolognese culture and Olindo Guerrini. She has published monographs on Bembo, Boccaccio, and Celio Calcagnini, and edited Poliziano's vernacular letters. She leads the Re.Novella project on the Italian Renaissance novella and directed the ArsNove project on Venetian novella history. CURTI is fluent in Italian, English, German, and French, and contributes to editorial boards of journals like Lettere Italiane and Generi. Her teaching spans medieval to modern Italian literature across multiple degree programs.
Research interests include textual criticism, literary theory, and gender studies in Renaissance literature. Key projects include exploring humanism in Ferrara, Florentine Laurentian culture, and female authorship in Renaissance letters. CURTI has received the 2018 Ca' Foscari Settlement Funds grant and holds a national qualification as a first-level professor in Italian Literature (2021).
