Dr. Eline Huygens is a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University and KU Leuven, affiliated with the Faculty of Geosciences' Urban Geography department. Her work bridges religious studies, gender studies, and feminist theory, focusing on intimate lives, relationships, and families among Catholic women in Flanders. She holds a joint PhD in Gender and Diversity Studies and Religious Studies from Ghent University and KU Leuven (2023). Previously, she was a PhD candidate and lecturer at Ghent University (2017–2023).
Her research expertise includes gender and sexuality, lived religion, and post-secular society. She employs qualitative methods such as ethnography and interviews to explore themes like religious practices, secularism, and feminist critiques. She serves as an editor for Religion and Gender and Historica.
