Eleonora Beccari is a Research Fellow in Functional Ecology at the University of Tartu, affiliated with the Macroecology workgroup (#MacroecologyUT). Her research employs trait-based approaches to analyze species strategies, trait diversity, and environmental interactions, with a focus on predicting responses to global change. She completed her PhD on trait-space patterns in plants and animals and now investigates biogeographic drivers of biodiversity.
Her research integrates functional ecology, macroecology, and remote sensing to address questions about trait diversity and ecosystem resilience. Key interests include spectral diversity mapping, biogeographic gradients, and the impacts of climate change on community dynamics.
Beccari collaborates with the Macroecology workgroup, contributing to projects like DarkDivNet and TraitDivNet. She actively shares ecological research via social media, emphasizing alpine plants, climate data visualization, and interdisciplinary conferences.
