Elena Touriño Baliña

Elena Touriño Baliña is a Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, San Jorge University, where she teaches Pharmaceutical Care and mentors students in the Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Care and Pharmacotherapy. She is an active researcher in the Social Pharmacotherapy Research Group (Farmacoterapia Social – USJ).

Her research focuses on pharmacotherapeutic experiences of patients with osteoarticular diseases, development of care plans through patient activation, and the implementation of Pharmacotherapy Optimization Units in rural settings. She has published on tools for pharmacotherapy optimization and the clinical role of pharmacists in hospital and community pharmacy.

Her scientific recognition includes:

• Founder Member of the Spanish Society for Pharmacotherapy Optimization (since 2012)

As an academic advisor, she directs Master's theses and serves as a professional tutor for students during external practices, fostering the next generation of pharmacists.
