Elena Sheldon

Dr. Elena Sheldon is a Senior Lecturer in the School of International Studies at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She coordinates programs including the ICS Spain Major, Latino Americans Major, and Spanish Language and Culture. Her research focuses on applied linguistics, second language literacy, and multilingual scholars' publishing challenges. With a PhD from UNSW (2013), she has published extensively on academic writing conventions in English and Spanish, and pioneered genre-based pedagogy for university-level Spanish language instruction.
