Elena L. Grigorenko is the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston and a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. She is Director of the Human Genetics Lab and affiliated with the Clinical Psychology Program and Developmental, Cognitive, & Behavioral Neuroscience Program. Her academic career includes previous roles as the Emily Fraser Beede Professor at Yale University.
- Education: Ph.D. in general/educational psychology (Moscow State University) and developmental psychology/genetics (Yale University)
Research focuses on integrating genetics with psychological development, clinical applications in forensic psychology, and global child/family well-being. Active in 5+ countries including Africa, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. Holds dual clinical psychology licenses (CT and TX).
Funding: Extensive grants from NIH, NSF, U.S. Department of Education, and private foundations. Over 500 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and books.
