Elena Kronberg

PD Dr. Elena Kronberg is a Research Professor and Heisenberg Research Group Leader at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Her work focuses on space plasma physics, with expertise in spacecraft observations, modeling, and mission development. She serves as a Co-Investigator for the RAPID instrument on the Cluster mission (ESA).

Research Interests: Her research spans three pillars—space weather prediction, plasma energization mechanisms, and ionospheric-ionosphere coupling. She employs machine learning and high-performance simulations to analyze magnetospheric dynamics and solar wind interactions.

• Key Projects: Contributions to the Cluster mission's re-entry milestone and leadership of the DFG-funded Research Unit on Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Plasmasphere-Thermosphere Coupling.
