Dr. Elena Gheorghiu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Stirling, within the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University (Netherlands) and has held post-doctoral positions at McGill University (Canada) and KU Leuven (Belgium). Her research focuses on human visual perception, specifically contour-shape processing, texture analysis, binocular vision, and visual illusions. She has received the prestigious 1st Prize at the Best Visual Illusion of the Year Contest (2007) for the 'Leaning Tower Illusion.'
