Elena Farolfi

Elena Farolfi M.Sc. is a researcher at the Institute of Viticulture and Pomology under the Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). Her work focuses on grapevine physiology, drought stress responses, and climate change impacts on viticulture.

• Current research explores metabolic plasticity in grapevines under drought conditions (Austrian Science Fund FWF project 2020-2024).
• Investigates genetic contributions to grapevine environmental adaptation (Federal Ministries-funded project 2023-2026).
• Co-researcher on berry shrivel factors in vineyards (FWF project 2024-2027).

She has presented at international conferences including the Austrian Society of Plant Biology (2025), International Congress on Grapevine and Wine Sciences (2023), and CAS Herbsttagung (2023), focusing on drought-climate interactions, spectral signatures, and osmotic adjustments in grapevines.
