Elena Del Rey Canteli

Elena Del Rey Canteli is a Professor at the University of Girona, affiliated with the Department of Economics within the School of Economics. She earned her BA from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1995), an MA in Economics from Tufts University (1996), and a PhD in Applied Economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (2000) with a dissertation on education and social stratification.

Her research focuses on microeconomic analysis applied to public policy, particularly in areas like education economics, social stratification, urban economics, and political economy. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Urban Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, and Economics of Education Review.

She serves as the Director of the Cátedra d'Habitatge Pere Bahí and was a Senior Expert in the European Expert Network on Economics of Education (EENEE). Previously, she was an Executive Editor of the journal Hacienda Pública Española (2018–2024).
