Eleanor Seaton is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. With ancestral roots in the Mississippi Delta and a background rooted in Chicago's Southside, Dr. Seaton’s research explores the intersection of racism, mental health, and developmental outcomes among Black American youth.

- Postdoctoral Training: Program for Research on Black Americans at the University of Michigan
Her interdisciplinary work integrates developmental psychology, social psychology, public health, and Black feminist theories, employing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches. She also investigates how racism-related experiences contribute to systemic societal disparities.
Dr. Seaton previously co-hosted the television segment Break it Down on AZ PBS, discussing racism’s societal impact. In her personal time, she enjoys journaling, travel, baking, shopping, reading, movies, and dancing to Chicago-style house music.
