Dr. Ekta Sharma is a Lecturer (Mathematics) and Researcher (Artificial Intelligence) at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), specializing in applied AI for atmospheric science and satellite sustainability. She holds a PhD in AI from USQ (2022) and advanced degrees from Delhi. Her research focuses on air quality prediction, satellite communication, and AI-driven solutions for environmental challenges. She has received prestigious awards, including the 2025 ECR Joint Fellowship (India-Australia) and 2024 Women in AI APAC award.
Dr. Sharma has led grants from the Australian Department of Defence, ONI, and AMSI, totaling over AUD 400,000.
