Ekaterina Egorova is a researcher with a PhD in From Text to Space: Spatial Discourse in Alpine Route Directions and Narratives from the University of Zurich. Her work spans geographic information science, citizen science, and spatial cognition, focusing on place theory, urban spaces, and sustainable development goals. She actively contributes to place-based education and spatial knowledge transfer using digital tools and location-based games.

Her research examines spatial perception in urban environments, refugee youth engagement in environmental projects, and digital geospatial toolboxes for community science. Recent studies (2023–2025) highlight urban blue locations and cyber ethics in platial research.
