معرفی
Eitan Tadmor is a Distinguished University Professor of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, with affiliations in the Department of Mathematics and the Institute for Physical Science & Technology (IPST). He also serves as the Founding Co-Director of the NSF-funded Research Network for Kinetic Description (Ki-Net) and was a Co-Director of the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA. His academic roles include leadership in applied mathematics, computational science, and interdisciplinary research.
His research focuses on the analysis and numerical methods for time-dependent problems, particularly in high-resolution algorithms for conservation laws, shock waves, kinetic transport phenomena, incompressible fluid dynamics, and image processing. Tadmor's work bridges analytical theory with computational aspects, emphasizing entropy stability and the development of robust numerical schemes.
Notable trends in his recent publications include studies on entropy decrease in collective systems, critical thresholds in Euler-Poisson equations, and the stability of numerical methods for ODEs. His work on swarm-based optimization and hydrodynamic alignment models highlights contributions to emergent behavior in multi-species systems and non-convex optimization.
