Dr. Anderson's research examines adolescent and young adult adaptation to socio-cultural changes, focusing on mental health, obesity stigma, and child well-being in legal systems. Her longitudinal studies in Belize and global ethnographic projects highlight intersections between environment, culture, and well-being.
Recent publications analyze obesity stigma in Jamaica, peer networks in eating disorder identification, and cultural factors in health assessments. Her work contributes to understanding health disparities through anthropological and interdisciplinary lenses.
She has led multi-institutional teams and currently develops programs connecting non-biological factors to healthcare delivery. Her upcoming book Young, Educated and Medicated: College Student Mental Health expands these themes.
