Eia Radosavljevic is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Fashion Design department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), serving in a part-time capacity. Their professional journey includes over 20 years of teaching experience at SAIC, during which they navigated pandemic-related disruptions to their international study plans during a sabbatical leave. This break led them to enroll in SAIC’s Low-Residency MFA program, marking a strategic pivot in their professional development.
Research interests center on textile art and material experimentation, reflected in works like Felt with cotton thread (2021) and Untitled in black (2022). Their creative practice explores sculptural forms using non-traditional materials such as felt, wire, and house paint. Radosavljevic has critically engaged with the challenges faced by non-tenure track faculty, advocating for the importance of sabbaticals in rejuvenating educators amid increasing workloads.
Recent creative outputs include participations in the FACULTY SABBATICAL TRIENNIAL exhibition (2021) and installations like Totem, showcasing interdisciplinary approaches merging fashion, sculpture, and conceptual art.
