Ehsan Sabet

Ehsan Sabet is a Senior Lecturer in Additive Manufacturing & Engineering Management at Loughborough University and Director of the Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (AM-COE) in Derby. With over 20 years of experience, his expertise spans investment casting, 3D printing, and engineering management across automotive, energy, and manufacturing sectors. He holds a PhD in Technology and Operations Management, alongside MSc and BSc degrees in Material Science and Casting Engineering.

His research focuses on additive manufacturing (3D printing), high-value manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean-Sigma-TOC. Notably, his work has impacted supply chains for OEMs such as Rolls Royce, Siemens, Jaguar Land Rover, and General Motors, as well as small and medium manufacturers. Ehsan has managed multi-million-pound research and industrial projects and supervised several PhD students.

Ehsan’s recent publications emphasize innovations in 3D printing materials (e.g., zirconia ceramics, ferrosilicon composites) and logistics optimization in humanitarian crises (e.g., Syrian refugee cash transfer systems). His work bridges computational modeling, material science, and supply chain resilience, with a focus on practical industrial applications.

In addition to academic roles, Ehsan leads the AM-COE, driving collaborative research in advanced manufacturing technologies. His contributions span both technical advancements and strategic supply chain management, reflecting his dual focus on innovation and operational excellence.
