Efthimoglou Georgios

Professor Efthimoglou Georgios is the Chair of the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus. He holds a BSc in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1991), an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University (1993), and a PhD from the same institution (1997). His professional career includes roles as a consultant in telecommunications, project manager at Cadence Design Systems, and academic positions at the University of Piraeus since 2002, where he transitioned from Assistant Professor to full Professor.

His research focuses on digital communication systems, wireless networks, and telecommunications, with over 76 international publications (exceeding 1,000 citations) in journals like IET Electronics Letters and conference proceedings. He serves as an Associate Editor for these journals and actively reviews for major venues in his field. He has led national and international research projects as a principal investigator and contributed to development initiatives in industry.

Professor Efthimoglou’s academic contributions extend to editorial roles in journals and technical program committees for conferences. His teaching emphasizes digital communication systems and spans both undergraduate and graduate levels.
