Edyta Đermić

Edyta Đermić is a Full Professor at the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture. She leads the Division for Phytomedicine and teaches courses including Molecular Techniques in Plant Pathology, Plant Bacteriology, and Plant Pathogen Management. Her research focuses on plant disease diagnostics, molecular methods in plant pathology, prokaryotic genome responses to environmental stressors, and phytopharmaceutical development.

Research Interests: Dr. Đermić specializes in plant pathology, with emphasis on molecular diagnostics of plant pathogens, bacterial/viral interactions, environmental impacts on prokaryotic genomes, and novel phytopharmaceutical formulations. Her work bridges agricultural biotechnology with sustainable disease management practices.

Projects: She has coordinated grants focused on bioactive compounds for olive disease management, DNA repair mechanisms in bacteria, polymer-based plant growth promoters, and EU-funded Xanthomonadaceae research. Current projects include collaborations with the Croatian Science Foundation and COST initiatives.

Teaching: Dr. Đermić has taught courses such as Phytobacteriology and Phytopathology, Epidemiology of Plant Diseases, and Management of Plant Diseases, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate education.
