Edwin W. Cook III

Edwin W. Cook III is an Associate Professor and Director of Medical/Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His research applies psychophysiology to study emotional processing in psychopathology. Dr. Cook examines startle response modulation related to anxiety, mood disorders, and personality characteristics using neuroimaging approaches.

His research has received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute on Aging, National Institute of Dental Research, and UAB research centers. As a licensed clinical psychologist, he maintains a private practice specializing in anxiety and depressive disorders.
