Edwin Vanecek is a Professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) since 2005, specializing in Opera Song and Oratorio History, Literary Foundations in Music, and Academic Techniques. He holds a Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Virginia and studied cello at the Vienna Conservatory (now MUK), earning a concert diploma. His academic career includes roles as an assistant at Harvard University, Visiting Professor at George Mason University, and Head of the seminar 'Literary Foundations in Music.' He has published extensively on the intersections of literature and music.
