Edwidge Danticat is the Wun Tsun Tam Mellon Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University’s Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies. She holds a BA from Barnard College and an MFA from Brown University. Her research interests include Haitian diaspora studies, Black feminist thought, and Caribbean history. She has authored 18 books, including Breath, Eyes, Memory and Brother, I'm Dying, and has received prestigious awards like the MacArthur Fellowship and the Neustadt Prize. Courses taught include Writing in the Presence of Ancestors and Harlem and Haiti Topics in the Black Experience.
