Edward Rochead

Edward Rochead is a mathematician and Governor at the University of Winchester. He holds an Honorary Professorship in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Birmingham and is a Visiting Professor of Innovation Strategy at Loughborough University. Currently, he leads AI, Cyber, and Data Science research commissioning for the MOD, following roles including Chief Mathematician at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. He chairs the Alliance for Data Science Professionals, setting standards for data science professionals globally.

• Education & Leadership: Active in STEM leadership, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration between arts, humanities, and sciences.
• Awards: Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (Chartered Mathematician), Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA).

His advocacy includes diversity in STEM, frequent speaking engagements, and mentorship. Previously chaired Blue Apple Theatre and remains Artist in Residence at the University of Winchester.
