Edward Miller is an Associate Professor of History and Asian Studies at Dartmouth College, serving as Chair of the Department of Asian Societies, Cultures, and Languages. He specializes in modern Vietnamese history, the Vietnam War, oral history, and digital humanities. Miller earned his B.A. from Swarthmore College (1991), M.A. from the University of Michigan (1997), and Ph.D. from Harvard University (2004). His research focuses on the international dimensions of the Vietnam War and utilizes archival materials from Vietnam, Europe, and the U.S.

Miller’s work bridges traditional historiography with digital humanities. His courses cover the Vietnam War, U.S. foreign policy, and digital history methods.
Publications include Misalliance (2013), The Vietnam War: A Documentary Reader (2016), and contributions to The Cambridge History of the Vietnam War (forthcoming 2024). His research emphasizes transnational perspectives, including U.S.-Vietnam relations and the legacy of the Cold War.
