Edward Kissi is a Professor at the University of South Florida's School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on Ethiopian and Horn of Africa history, famine politics, US-Africa relations, and comparative genocide studies. He earned his Ph.D. in History from Concordia University (1997) and held post-doctoral roles at Yale University and Clark University. He has authored seminal works like Africans and the Holocaust and Revolution and Genocide in Ethiopia and Cambodia.
Educations: B.A. (History, Classics) from University of Ghana (1987); M.A. History from Wilfrid Laurier University (1991); Ph.D. History from Concordia University (1997).
Research interests include famine as a weapon, Holocaust-African connections, and genocide prevention. He contributed to UNESCO's Holocaust education initiatives and advised the UN on genocide detection. Key awards include the Andrew W. Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellowship (1998-1999).
