Edward Kim is a Research Fellow in the School of Computing at the Australian National University (ANU), focusing on Humanising Machine Intelligence. His research bridges theoretical and applied domains, with expertise in probability, nonlinear stochastic control, financial mathematics, economics, game theory, and artificial intelligence. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Sydney (2021) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the same institution (2013).
His research interests include arbitrage-free valuation in financial markets, nonlinear stochastic control applications, and advancing decision-making frameworks in artificial intelligence. Kim has supervised research students and contributed to interdisciplinary projects at ANU. His work spans theoretical finance, game theory, and machine learning, with recent focus on POMDP planning and financial derivatives pricing.
Kim’s articles explore topics like long-horizon POMDP planning, reference-based decision processes, nonlinear market dynamics, and game-theoretic financial models. His 2024 work on POMDP planning addresses challenges in autonomous systems, while earlier contributions (2014–2021) tackle financial instrument valuation and security mechanisms.
He is affiliated with ANU’s School of Computing and actively engaged in collaborative research projects. No scientific awards are listed, but his work demonstrates significant contributions to both theoretical and applied research domains.
