Edward Danielson is an Instructor in Samoan at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, teaching first and second year Samoan language courses. He concurrently serves as an instructor at the Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center of Honolulu and works as a Samoan Language interpreter/translator for government and private agencies. His academic affiliations include roles as a teacher’s assistant under Dr. John Mayer and Dr. Faʻafetai Lesa (1997–1999).
Education: PhD candidate in Secondary Education; Master of Arts in Curriculum Studies (MA); Bachelor of Arts in Pacific Island Studies (BA) with a Zoology minor; Associate of Arts (AA) in General Education.
Research interests focus on Samoan language pedagogy, cultural preservation, and bilingual education. His career spans over two decades, beginning with Sunday school teaching in American Samoa (1995) and evolving into university-level instruction. He holds the Samoan chief title of Tafesilafaʻi and resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.
