معرفی
Edward Caunt is a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Earth Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. He is supervised by Dr. Gerard Gorman and Dr. Rhodri Nelson, focusing on immersed boundary implementations in finite difference solvers and high-level abstractions for workflow acceleration, particularly in wavefield modelling and seismic processing. His work emphasizes symbolic computation and numerical methods for geophysical applications.
He holds an MSci in Geophysics from Imperial College London (2019), with a masters project on dispersion-relation-preserving finite difference schemes. Edward is an active member of the Devito Group, contributing to the development of Devito—an embedded domain-specific language/compiler for stencil computations. His GitHub repositories include contributions to DevitoBoundary and personal projects.
Research interests include improving numerical accuracy in wave propagation, immersed boundary techniques, and compiler optimizations for scientific computing. His technical contributions span codebase maintenance, memory usage estimation, and parallel computing improvements in Devito.
