Edward Ademolu

Edward Ademolu is Lecturer in Cultural Competency at King's College London, appointed Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research focuses on international development, media representations of poverty, and African diaspora experiences.

Ademolu's cross-disciplinary research examines how representations of global poverty in media and development organizations shape audience subjectivities. He employs qualitative methodologies including interviews, focus groups, photoelicitation, and discourse analysis. His recent publications explore ethical representation in humanitarian communications, researcher positionality, and diasporic interpretations of African imagery.

His scholarship contributes to critical development studies, with articles in Journal of International Development, Journal of Development Studies, and Qualitative Research. Ademolu actively engages public discourse through media outlets like The Conversation and collaborations with NGOs including Oxfam.
