Edona Elshan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Knowledge, Information and Innovation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of St. Gallen (2023). Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, software development, digitalization, and low-code platforms, with a particular interest in citizen developers, human-AI collaboration, and organizational innovation. She is actively involved in academic conferences and serves as Spokesperson for Die Wirtschaftsinformatik e. V. - Frauennetzwerk (2024-2026).
Her research explores topics like social loafing in AI teams, strategic low-code adoption, and the diffusion of emerging technologies such as the metaverse. She has published extensively in journals like Business and Information Systems Engineering and MIS Quarterly Executive, with peer-reviewed contributions to conferences like HICSS and ICSOB.
Elshan teaches courses on Business Intelligence, E-Business, and Online Commerce. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications, emphasizing design science and impact-driven research.
