Edoardo G. Ostinelli, MD, DPhil, is Senior Researcher and Deputy Lead of the Oxford Precision Psychiatry Lab (OxPPL) within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. He concurrently serves as CRF Senior Medic at the NIHR Oxford Cognitive Health Clinical Research Facility and as Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Research Focus:
Dr Ostinelli’s programme centres on translating evidence-based medicine into real-world psychiatric practice. He designs and evaluates precision-medicine tools that integrate individual patient preferences with large-scale trial and observational data, exemplified by the PETRUSHKA web-based clinical decision-support system for antidepressant selection in depression. Additional work spans network meta-analyses of psychological and pharmacological interventions across depression, insomnia, ADHD, PTSD, and schizophrenia, as well as living systematic reviews that incorporate AI-assisted screening techniques.
Collaborations & Impact:
His studies routinely involve international consortia with academic centres in Bern, Kyoto, London, Munich, Ottawa, Tokyo and Toronto. Outputs have informed WHO and NICE guidance and have been widely cited in both scientific and lay media.
