Edoardo Bressanelli is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute (2012) and previously served as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in European Politics at King's College London, where he remains a Senior Visiting Research Fellow. His research focuses on EU institutions, political parties, and British/Italian politics. He teaches modules on EU integration, comparative politics, and quantitative research methods. Bressanelli has advised the European Parliament on EU economic governance and parliamentary committees. He co-convenes the Standing Group on the European Union (SISP) and serves on the editorial board of Politics and Governance.

His research interests include EU decision-making processes, the resilience of democracy, and post-pandemic governance adaptations. His recent work analyzes the European Council's legislative role, UK Labour's post-election strategy, and Italian parties' behavior in the European Parliament. He has published widely in journals like European Union Politics and European Journal of Political Research.
