Edmund Wascher

Edmund Wascher serves as Head of Department and Full Professor for Ergonomics at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors, affiliated with the Technical University of Dortmund. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, he has established himself as a leading researcher in cognitive ergonomics and human factors.

His educational background includes a Diploma in Psychology from the University of Graz (1989) and a PhD in Psychology from both the University of Graz and University of Munich (1992).

Professor Wascher's research focuses on information processing in human-machine systems, adaptive interfaces, perception-action integration, visual attention, and the neurophysiology of cognitive processing. His work bridges cognitive neuroscience with practical applications in workplace design and human factors engineering.
