Edgars Edelmers is an Acting Researcher at the Medical Education Technology Centre and Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), and a PhD student in the Department of Morphology at RSU's Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology. He also serves as a Teaching Fellow at Riga Technical University and a Software Engineer at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D technologies into biomedical applications, including medical diagnostics, research methodologies, and educational tools. Key areas of expertise include AI-driven medical imaging analysis, deep neural networks for disease detection (e.g., bone metastases, haemorrhoidal disease), and 3D model reconstruction from medical scans.
