Edgar Correia Campos

Edgar Correia Campos is Assistant Professor (Adjunto Convidado) at the School of Education, Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, and Assistant Professor (Auxiliar Convidado) at the Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique, Porto. Since 2025 he is also a researcher at the Centre for Studies in Education and Innovation (Polytechnic Institute of Viseu). In parallel, he serves as Vice-President of the General Council of the Viseu Chapter of EAPN Portugal – European Anti-Poverty Network.

He holds a PhD in Educational and Behavioural Sciences (University of Vigo, 2024), an MSc in Psychosocial Intervention with Children and Youth at Risk (IPV, 2021), a Post-Graduate Specialisation in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (CRIAP, 2021) and a BSc in Social Education (IPV, 2018).

His research revolves around Social Education and Psychosocial Intervention with Vulnerable Children and Young People, focusing on transition to adulthood, family intervention, child-protection systems, youth participation, and inter-professional teamwork. He has led or collaborated on nationally and internationally funded projects such as Adélia (2021-2022) and VIAS – Viseu InterAge Stories (2017-2018).

Across 2021-2024 he has (co-)authored more than fifteen peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and conference papers, with recurrent themes of socio-educational support, child-rights participation, and comparative child-protection policies in Iberian contexts.

Master’s Thesis Supervision

• Co-supervised three dissertations (2022-2024) on work-family conciliation, parental involvement, and final placement reports within the MSc Psychosocial Intervention with Children and Youth at Risk at IPV.

Scientific Event Leadership

He regularly chairs scientific and organising committees for the International Seminar on Policies and Responses for Children and Young People at Risk (annual, IPV) and the International Congress of Social Education (Galicia), moderating expert panels and keynote sessions on migration, digital identity, and family violence.
